CEAT felicitates IRTA 2010 Winners

Encouraging innovations and application of new technology for the better satisfaction of customers has always been the tradition of CEAT. Carrying forward the same culture, CEAT recently organized a glittering ceremony at its Mumbai office. The occasion was the distribution of IRT Awards 2010. The winners were selected by the strict screening process monitored by an independent eminent jury consisting prominent torch bearers of transport and fleet industry. Sudhanshu Kumar, Chief – Customer Service Division, Tata Steel (TISCO); Pravin Puntambekar, Vice President, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd; R. Srihari, Director, JCL Logistics Pvt. Ltd and Anupam Bhatnagar, Vice President, Mahindra Logistics etc were some of those dignified personalities.

IRT Awards 2010 (India Road Transportation Awards ) were adjudged for six categories: Operational Excellence, Personnel management, Customer Experience, Environment Conservation, Transport Personality of the year and Youth Entrepreneur Achievers.  The main aim of CEAT for introducing IRT is to promote the excellence in the transport and fleet industry besides presenting the new standards to be followed. The participation of many youth entrepreneurs proved the importance of this award. According to P. A. Patil, Vice President – Supply Chain & Business Development, Lupin Ltd., “ Such awards will help this industry to get due recognition as well as to identify the leaders in the segment.”

Gracing the occasion, Paras Chowdhary, M. D. CEAT Ltd. said, “Road transport is backbone of various industries. This sector was relatively unorganized till few years back but today it is becoming professional very fast. With the increased importance of transport industry in every business sector, it has become necessary to recognize the efforts of fleet owners towards innovations in customer satisfaction, operation and environment conservation. IRTA may be less recognized now but it is a great achievement because it is a great inspirational source to do better. Hopefully in the coming years the competition would be more tough, which is the base of healthy business growth.
